What is a Continuing Care Retirement Community or CCRC?

A CCRC combines all four levels of care: independent living, assisted living, intermediate nursing care and skilled nursing care in a single setting.

Do I have to make an initial investment to live at Grace Village?

No, we have several financial options available to our residents.

What is a Life Lease?

It is a one time deposit that enables the reduction of your monthly apartment or condo fees.

Do I ever get any of my deposit back?

We have two different leases available, a nonrefundable and a refundable. With the refundable lease a percentage of your deposit is returned based on the amount of time you have lived in your home. The smallest amount you will ever have returned is 60%!

Do we allow smoking at Grace Village?

No, in consideration to the health concerns of our residents, Grace Village has a no smoking policy.

What Dining options do I have at Grace Village?

You can choose to cook your own meals in your independent condo or apartment. Or you can dine in our beautifully decorated dining room. Our culinary staff prepares three delicious and balanced meals a day. We also have an elegant dining facility in our assisted living quarters. There are also two additional dining rooms in our health care center.

How big is our campus?

Grace Village consists of eight structures, which cover a total of 18 acres. Included in our community are 35 Robin Hood Homes, 118 independent apartments, 56 assisted living apartments, 65 intermediate health care beds and 12 skilled beds. Nearly 300 individuals consider Grace Village their home.

What maintenance is included when you live in a Robin Hood Condominium?

Exterior maintenance of the dwelling itself, which also includes, lawns, snow and ice removal. Also included is interior maintenance of the structure; heating, air conditioning, plumbing and for all appliances that belong to Grace Village. We provide all major appliances in our condominiums.

Can I come and go freely?

Of course you can! You and your guests can come and go as you normally would. We do not have set hours associated for visits.

How can I help to continue the mission of Grace Village?

Grace Village is a not for profit organization and there are several opportunities to help. For further information see our "Giving Opportunities" section.

What is the difference between Independent Living and Assisted Living?

People who live in the independent section of our campus are responsible and capable of their own affairs. They manage or delegate all of their daily personal and financial needs. The residents of residential care (assisted living) require a helping hand. We provide services that focus on maximizing each person’s capabilities. Individual assistance is given on a regular basis to those requiring help with personal grooming, scheduling and transportation to doctor’s appointments. Laundry and housekeeping services are included, as well as administration of medications and treatments.

Residential Care (Assisted Living)

Are housekeeping and laundry services provided?

Housekeeping and laundry services are provided to each resident at NO additional cost. Grace Village housekeeping staff keep apartments clean on a daily basis. The staff as needed can do laundry or laundry facilities are provided in Residential Care for those wanting to do their own laundry.

Are meals included in the cost?

Yes. All three meals are included in your monthly service fee.

Are Grace Village Residential Care apartments furnished or unfurnished?

Residents provide their own furnishings. This helps with the transition from your previous home to your new home.

Will a nurse be present twenty-four hours a day?

Yes. A LPN and a direct care provider supervise the health and care of all residents’ twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week.

Will medications be given to residents?

Yes. Our direct care providers are qualified to give medications to your loved ones. Medications are distributed according to the resident’s physician’s orders.

Do residents in Residential Care receive assistance with showers?

Yes. Our residents receive assistance once a week with a shower if needed. It is the resident’s choice on whether or not to receive the assistance.

Health Care

What is the difference between skilled care and intermediate care?

Skilled care is for those coming from the hospital that are in need of short-term therapy. Intermediate care is for long-term residents that need nursing care on a twenty-four hour basis.

Does Grace Village have private rooms?

Yes. We have several private rooms with their own bathrooms.

Can I bring personal belongings?

Yes. Grace Village encourages families to bring personal belongings with them. This helps to recreate the home-like sentiment that is necessary for resident’s peace of mind.

Will Medicare or insurance cover any of the cost?

Medicare Part A will cover costs for skilled care. Medicare Part B will cover therapy for intermediate care. Many insurance policies are simply Medicare supplements and will not cover intermediate care costs. Insurance policies Vary widely. Please check with your insurance provider to see if long-term services are covered.
